Commercial Condensation Control Treatments
Do you have excess moisture, dampness and black mould in your commercial property?
Condensation and Black Mould
Condensation and black mould are often interconnected issues arising from excess moisture in indoor environments.
Condensation occurs when warm, moist air comes into contact with cooler surfaces, causing the air to release its moisture in the form of water droplets. This commonly happens on windows, walls, or other cold surfaces.
When condensation persists in areas with poor ventilation, it creates an ideal breeding ground for black mould which thrives in damp conditions, feeding on materials such as wood or drywall.
A tell tale sign of signs of damp and mould is a musty smell in the affected areas.

How to control condensation
The main ways to effectively treat and control condensation are to increase airflow and reduce moisture in your commercial property.
Encourage air flow through your property:
- Opening your windows as much as possible (though not always possible during winter) and ensure that airways, air vents, air bricks and window trickle vents are open or not obstructed.
- Install additional extractor fans and/or condensation systems such as Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) units which encourage more airflow through your property.
- Increasing airflow in and out of your property will allow the excessive moisture in the air to escape outside meaning there is less chance of moisture coming into contact with a cold surface.
Limit the amount of moisture within your property:
There are main general day to day activities that add excessive moisture to your property, some of which cannot be controlled. Typically, moisture and condensation in properties originate from many everyday activities such as:
- Cooking and boiling a kettle.
- Taking a bath and a shower.
- Washing and drying clothes.
- Even simply breathing adds moisture to the air.
How much does it cost to add condensation control to my commercial property?
Each condensation control project is unique, and the expenses associated with it depends on factors such as the property’s size, what current measures you have in place and the costs of necessary materials and products.
For an accurate assessment of the costs associated with your specific condensation and black mould project, contact us to book a condensation inspection.
We can then schedule a condensation survey conducted by one of our specialist surveyors to provide you everything you need to turn your property into a dry and hospitable environment.
