Commercial Rising Damp Treatments

Do you have rising damp damaging your commercial property?

Rising Damp

Rising damp is a common problem in buildings, especially older structures, caused by the upward movement of groundwater through porous building materials such as bricks, mortar, and concrete.

Rising Damp occurs when moisture from the ground is drawn upward by capillary action, saturating walls and causing visible damp patches. This often occurs due to a lack of or failure of the building’s damp-proof course.

Rising damp can lead to various issues, including damage to plaster and paint, decay of timber, and the growth of black mould and mildew.

It is often characterised by rotten & decaying skirting boards, peeling wallpaper and a distinctive “tide mark” on affected walls, indicating the maximum height to which moisture has risen.

    • External ground levels.
    • Blocked drains.
    • Damaged pointing and render.

2. Carry out external repairs
